Release notes - what's new in Artlook Online
The latest version is 7.3.3 (October 2026). Features marked GALLERY or STUDIO are only available in those versions of Artlook.
Update 7.3.3 (October 2026)
Websites
- Artists by category (GALLERY versions only). The Artists page can include a submenu or toolbar of categories of work, which filters the artists list to those who have work in the selected category. Find this and other new Artists page options in Settings > Website.
- Artists listed without images (GALLERY versions only). Display your artists list as text only, as an alternative to a grid with images. Set it in Settings > Website, in the Artists page options.
- Web page with categories submenu. Website pages (type Web_page) can now have a categories menu. Click the checkbox in the grouping next to Artist Indexed. This allows showing the artworks in the selected category only.
Ecommerce
- Shipping settings for all Ecommerce users. Shipping charges are now available in Settings > Inventory (Sale of sundries) for everyone with the Ecommerce module, whatever their other subscription options. Ticking it reveals the Shipping tab.
- Shipping options. Charge by weight and destination (with your own table of delivery charges), a flat charge per shipment, a flat charge per item, or shipping included. You can also restrict sales to your country or continent, allow free collection, charge shipping only once for multi-item orders, and offer free shipping above a set order value.
- Checkout messages and Stripe test. In Settings > Ecommerce you can customise the checkout messages buyers see, and send a £1 test payment to check your Stripe keys.
Dashboard
- Email campaigns (GALLERY and STUDIO versions only). As well as Mailchimp, Artlook now integrates with EmailOctopus and Brevo for bulk emailing. See those companies’ websites for information on them.
Update 7.3.2 (early autumn 2026)
Inventory
- Consigned out artwork on your website (GALLERY and STUDIO versions only). For artwork that is consigned out but on your website, you can choose how it is treated: leave it unstated (the default), direct users to the consignee, or state that the item is currently unavailable. Go to Settings > Website and set the option “Consigned out artwork for sale”. A previous bug sometimes showed such an item as “Sold”; this is now corrected.
- Bulk loading artwork. The “Load” button in inventory is much improved. There is no limit on the number of files you can upload. You can also point it at a folder and it uploads all the images in that folder as new artworks, each titled with its filename (without the suffix). A dialog box prompts you for other options for the uploaded files.
New sign ups
- Creating a new Artlook account has been improved, with several quick start features for new tenants.
Websites
- Featured artists (GALLERY versions only). Tag an artist as “Featured” by opening their contact record and ticking the checkbox on the Artist details tab. In Settings > Website, the “Featured artists” dropdown lets you either show them in a top section of the artists page, or elevate each featured artist’s individual page to the main menu.
- Listings pages. In Groupings there is a new “Listing” option. A listing works like the Web_gallery (Galleries) type: a grouping has other groups pointing at it. Set the grouping type to Web_page and check “Listing page”. For a new listing, set the page to be the master; its title appears on the website menu. For the sub-groupings (the items that appear on the listing page), also set them to Web_page, check “Listing page”, and set the master to the grouping you first created. This is ideal for news or blog pages where each news item or blog entry is a sub-grouping.
- Spam emails. Further measures have been introduced to reduce spam getting through from contact and enquiry forms. Tell Artlook if a lot is reaching you.
- SEO. Continued improvements to the search engine optimisation built into the site. You can also add meta data to your pages using the Web Helper application.
- Website settings. Many new options have been added to Settings > Website.
- Social media. The social media sites you can link to are much more comprehensive.
- Favicon. In Settings > Logo there is a new Favicon function. The favicon is the tiny logo shown next to the page title in a browser tab. If you do not set one, the Artlook logo is used. Upload a JPG or PNG file, ideally square and preferably 64x64 pixels.
Update 7.3.1 (late summer 2026)
Inventory
- Real edition size (GALLERY and STUDIO versions only). Editions can have a “real” edition size, for when the edition items in the record do not represent the whole edition. Instead of “Edition of 5” when only 5 items are in the record, it says “Edition of” whatever the real size field is set to. This shows in the backend and on your website.
- Open editions (GALLERY and STUDIO versions only). Editions can be “Open”, where there is effectively an unlimited number and the artist or gallery can add more as needed. This shows in the backend and on your website.
- Galleries access the editions settings on the Transacting tab; Artists on the Items tab.
Contacts
- Mailing List option. Set it within the contact record on the first tab. It will be followed through to websites, where people will be able to sign up to your mailing list. It must be activated in Settings > Contacts > Mailing List > Yes / No.
- Bulk edit for contacts, similar to the one in inventory. Make a selection, choose the Actions tab on the query pane and click the Bulk Edit button.
Your account
- Manage Your Subscription is a new, more comprehensive feature. You can choose or remove add-ons, upgrade, downgrade, or change subscription type.
