Inventory settings

The Inventory settings tab controls how your inventory behaves and displays:

  • Default sorting sequence — the initial sort order when you open Inventory. You can still change the sequence at any time from within the module.
  • Inventory Groupings — allow items to have an override price/title within a grouping — lets a piece have a different price or title when shown as part of a grouping, without changing the original record. Catalogues and price lists made from the grouping use the override; everything else uses the original.
  • Inventory Categories / Prices — show in index display grid — whether these show in the inventory listing.
  • Inventory — show PRICES with decimals — turn this on if you price in pence or cents; most art pricing is in whole pounds, dollars or euros.
  • Inventory — filter display to “Available” only, on startup — whether Inventory opens already filtered to available items.
  • Normal mark up (%) on inward consignments — the default markup Artlook applies when you consign in a piece from another artist or supplier.
  • Default transaction method — Direct or Basket, which controls how a sale is normally recorded.
  • Sale of sundries — tick Framing, Shipping charges and/or Other charges if you sell these alongside your work. Ticking Shipping charges makes the Shipping tab appear, where you set them up. If you have the Ecommerce module, Shipping charges is always available here.
  • Own Art Scheme — switch this on if you participate in the Own Art interest-free loan scheme.
  • Lightbox style — the look used for all your lightboxes: Standard, darker background or White background, slide show included. Changing this affects every lightbox going forward, but any lightbox already saved as a snapshot keeps the style it had when the snapshot was taken.
