Shipping settings
The Shipping tab controls how shipping is worked out and charged, including when someone buys from your website.
Where you ship to
Restrict shipping geographically limits sales to your own country (National, shown with your country’s name) or your own continent (Continental), or leaves it unrestricted (No).
Shipping system
Choose how shipping is charged:
- Charge by weight / destination — build a table of delivery charges (see below).
- Flat charge per shipment — one amount per order. Enter it in Charge per shipment.
- Flat charge per item — an amount for every item ordered. Enter it in Charge per item.
- Shipping included — no separate shipping charge is added; the cost is in your prices.
Delivery charges
When the shipping system is Charge by weight / destination, a Delivery charges table appears. Click Add delivery charge and enter:
- Name / description of the service, for example “Tracked courier”.
- Maximum weight in kgs that this charge covers.
- Destination — National, Continental or World.
- Cost.
Add one line for each weight band and destination you offer. A charge can’t be edited once saved: to change it, delete it with the red minus button and add a new one.
Collection
Allow collection for online orders lets buyers choose to collect their purchase in person instead of having it shipped. Collection is free, and is offered to buyers at checkout alongside any shipping options.
Ecommerce options
These appear only if you have switched on website sales (Ecommerce):
- Multiple items — charge shipping only once — when someone buys several items in one order, they pay a single shipping charge, based on the most expensive item’s shipping, rather than paying for each item.
- No shipping charge when value exceeds — orders above this value ship free, and buyers see Free Shipping at checkout. Leave it blank or 0 for no limit.
If no shipping option applies to a buyer’s destination or item, they see the message you set in the Ecommerce settings.
Don’t forget to click Save changes.
