How Web Helper works
Web Helper is a companion app for building and managing your website without needing to open Artlook itself — see other features for how to open it, either from the lightning bolt icon in Artlook or directly at web-assistant.artlookonline.com.
Web Helper works on the same underlying data as Artlook itself: its pages are your groupings, and a piece’s price or On website? flag is the same field whether you change it here or in Inventory. See how your website works for the grouping types your website is built from — Web Helper is simply a more visual way of managing them.
Before you start
Web Helper needs a reasonably wide screen — it isn’t designed for use on a phone or a small tablet.
Almost everything you change here is live straight away and affects your website immediately — there’s no draft mode and no separate publish step (the one exception is Additional metas, which need approval before going live). Changes save automatically as you make them, typically as soon as you move out of a field, so there’s no Save button to look for.
Getting your bearings
A few controls sit in the header, next to your site’s name:
- The globe icon opens your live website in a new tab.
- The eye icon toggles a Live preview panel showing your actual homepage inline, with its own refresh and open-full-size buttons — useful for checking a change without leaving Web Helper.
- The circular arrow with a number next to it is an undo button. Hover it to see what it would undo — for example “Undo: Changed an image title” — and click it to reverse that one change immediately. It’s a genuine undo that acts straight away, not a history you can browse first, so only click it once you’re sure. There’s no redo, so if you undo something by mistake you’ll need to make the change again by hand.
Four tabs run across the top — Content, Style and layout, Settings and Additional metas — covered on the following pages.
